Moving toward a new destination…

Maybe you might have noticed, that this site wasn’t actualized the last few months anymore.

Some of my topics changed and my leasuretime was diversified into additional topics, that wouldn’t fit very well into this blog. That was the main reason to create a new one…

So, if you would like to follow my future blog articles, feel free to read them at Relborn’s Creative Wonderland. The topics won’t be mainly Roleplaying topics anymore, but maybe you find something that’s intersting for you also.

Houses of the Blooded – Blessings

As promised I created some Blessing Cards for HotB. They should help you out during a game session for easy reference and are not intended as replacement for the rulebook.

Houses of the Blooded – Maneuvers

Sorry for the long time, anything was posted here, but there was a lot to do at the job at the moment.

Here is a little treat for the long waiting time. Last weekend I visited the Spiel 2008 (a Game Fair in Germany) and had afterwards the pleasure to run a little introduction into Houses of the Blooded. Personally I had a blast this evening, and it seemed like my friends had enough fun out of the game too.

The game itself sported a duel and it was soon clear to me how helpful some cards for the different maneuvers would be (especially if you could hold several versions of the same maneuver card in your hand and discard it after use).

Jadettman has already created his version of the cards, but I wanted to overwork them, because a) they should show the most actual errata (mainly reducing the wager cost for each) and b) I wanted to try an different take for the design.

So, nachdem ich schon ein wenig über das neue Rollenspiel in diversen Foren gelesen hatte, kam ich nicht umhin, mir das gute Stück zu bestellen und “persönlich” anzusehen.

Der Hintergrund des ganzen ist eigentlich recht schnell und simpel erläutert. In der fernen Zukunft der Erde spielt man eine Gruppe Marines deren Aufgabe es ist alles extraterrestrische Leben im All auszulöschen – Planet für Planet. Also eine Mischung aus Alien, Predator, Starship Trooper und Starcraft.

Das Regelwerk liest sich sehr kurzweilig und macht gleich Lust auf eine schnelle Runde. Es gibt nette Gadgets und Waffen mit denen man den Marine ausrüsten kann (ich sag nur Orbital Strike!!!) aber insgesamt ist das Regelwerk sehr übersichtlich. 3:16 ist nicht als langfristiges Rollenspiel konzipiert und soll auch eher den spontanen Rollenspielevent füllen.

Das erfüllt 3:16 allem Anschein nach sehr gut und ich bin schon auf die erste Testrunde gespannt. Also Marines, freiwillige vor…

Neue World of Darkness Serie: Geist

Noch eine kleine aber feine Info, die von der Gen Con durchgesickert ist. Im neuen Hunter Regelbuch findet man am Ende des Buches die erste Werbung für das kommende Rollenspiel in der nWOD.

Ob es sich dabei um den Nachfolger von Wraith oder von Orpheus handelt (vielleicht sogar beidem) bleibt natürlich mit Spannung abzuwarten. Da das Buch vor dem 2. Quartal 2009 nicht erhältlich sein wird, dürften weitere Informationen vorerst -ganz White Wolf typisch- spärlich gesäät sein.

Fundstücke der Woche

Da ich es ja dieses Jahr leider nicht auf die Gen Con 2008 nacht Indianapolis geschafft habe, blieb mir nichts anderes übrig, als meine Entzugserscheinungen mittels der vielen Con Berichte zu lindern (oder aufzustacheln, wie man es halt sehen möchte).

Dabei sind natürlich zum einen das lang erwartete Anima RPG aufgefallen, welches sich den ersten Berichten nach im Regelwerk etwas an das bekannte Rolemaster anlehnt. Auffallend erwähnt wurden durchgehend die ausnahmslos schöne Grafik und Gestaltung des Regelwerkes, welche man ja bereits von der Internetseite erahnen kann. Der Zeichenstil der Figuren, welcher stark an die Final Fantasy Serie erinnert, sollten das Herz jedes Manga Fans höher schlagen lassen.

Eine weitere Neuerscheinung ist das Rollenspiel zum Comic-Newcomer Mouseguard. In Deutschland wurde bereits der erste Band des Comics veröffentlicht und dürfte hierzulande bereits die ersten Fans der Mäuseabenteurer gefunden haben. Der erste Blick auf das Regelwerk besticht durch eine solide aber dennoch einfache Aufmachung und sollte auch Rollenspielanfängern einen leichten Einstieg ermöglichen (sofern man sich auf ein englischsprachiges Rollenspiel einlassen möchte). Die Regeln sind an den Burning Wheel Regeln angelehnt wurden aber etwas vereinfacht, was aus meiner Sicht das Regelsystem stark aufwertet.

Zu guter Letzt fiel mir noch mit Eoris eine Neuankündigung ins Auge, welche für Dezember 2008 vorgesehen ist. Optisch gesehen macht alleine schon die Homepage Lust auf mehr und ich muss sagen, dass wenn das Regelwerk (400 Seiten) mit der Vorankündigung mithalten kann, dann steht uns wirklich ein grafischer Leckerbissen ins Haus. Zu den Regeln ist leider noch sehr wenig bekannt und somit bleibt abzuwarten ob Eoris seinen Erwartungen gerecht wird. Die Darstellung der Rassen und Kulturen hebt sich auf jeden Fall schonmal erfrischend vom Fantasy einerlei ab…

Unerwartete Probleme mit den Contract Cards

Anscheinend muss wohl irgend etwas mit den Changeling Karten nicht so recht gepasst haben, denn während meines Urlaubes hat wohl eine Änderung bei WordPress dazu geführt, dass die Links nicht mehr richtig funktioniert haben.

Das Problem ist behoben und der letzte Stapel an Karten sollte die Tage folgen…

Seeming Contracts and Goblin Contracts

Hmm this little bunch took me much longer than expected due to some editing and layout problem. I am still not very happy with the logo, but hey … maybe I am going to find a sollution soon.
